What is Law?

Law

Law is a system of rules that governs how people act. It includes rules that govern a country’s government, courts and people’s rights. It is important because it gives people a way to know their rights and how to act correctly.

There are four universal principles that make up the rule of law: – Accessible justice, – Accountability, – Stability and – Equality

The legal system is composed of a number of articles. These articles deal with a number of subjects such as the relationship between law and political structures, human rights, legal education, and legal ethics.

Articles are usually contained in a document such as a statute, code or paragraph in a contract. They can specify the duties of the parties, measure of damages if the parties break their agreements and how to resolve conflicts.

The main types of law are:

Public law and private law
Public law is made up of laws that affect everyone in a country. These laws may include crimes such as stealing, or things that are against the law in a specific area of the country.

Civil law

Private law is made up of laws that control the way people behave and how they can be compensated if they are harmed. These laws can be about things such as running away with unpaid goods or backfiring into a fence and causing damage.

Some theories of rights are based on the idea that a right is a value, such as freedom or equity, that entitles the right-holder. Others are based on the idea that a rights is a norm, such as a privilege or power.
